I’m super stoked because SoloMoms! Talk is now on Alexa. I didn’t even realize that’s a thing. But why shouldn’t it be? You can now listen on TuneIn and by clicking the player below.
I think most people are familiar with Amazon’s virtual assistant, Alexa. Echo (picture above) is like the hardware and Alexa is the software. But there’s nothing soft about this babe. Alexa is truly a voice control digital assistant that can:
- order from Amazon Prime or Prime Now
- play music, read the news, and check the weather
- be used to program smart devices in your home
- provide hands free calling
- do so much more…
Concerned about privacy? The product description on Amazon’s site says that privacy is not an issue because the system is built with multiple layers of protections and controls. I’ll definitely be getting one and will provide an update when we’ve settled into our routine. Maybe do an unboxing if I don’t get too excited and forget.
Also, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention that I heard Samuel L. Jackson’s voice is being used in the device. So for example, you can ask Alexa to tell Samuel to read the news. I think that’s so fun!
Alexa is so much more than a virtual assistant but I just wanted to briefly announce that you can ask Alexa to find and play an episode of SoloMoms! Talk for you from TuneIn.
So buy an Echo. Set up Alexa and listen to my podcast. Imagine you can listen to a solo mom’s story, while you cook or do the dishes or while you get ready for work. If you work from home you can even listen throughout the day. Then instead of worrying about going out to the store, just ask your Assistant, Alexa to order from the thousand of items available on Amazon Prime Now. How easy is that?
Stay tuned for my update. In the meantime, check out the latest episode of SoloMoms! Talk podcast. Thanks.
